Subaru XV Concept previews next Crosstrek in Geneva

Subaru has introduced today in Geneva the XV Concept which signals the company’s new design philosophy set to be implemented on future models.

The concept is not that far off from being transformed into a production model for the next-generation XV which will feature Subaru’s new DYNAMIC X SOLID design language. Judging by the concept’s design, the new compact crossover will have a substantially more aggressive appearance with sharp lines and a hexagonal grille flanked by LED hawk-eye headlights.

Front and rear aluminum underbody protections corroborated with plastic body cladding contribute to make the XV Concept look more rugged while the fender flares serve the same purpose. The concept is shorter and wider than the current XV while retaining the same wheelbase. It has received a new set of large 19-inch alloy wheels that come wrapped in chunky 245/50 tires.

Subaru has painted the body in a new shade called blue-gray which tries to mimic the glacier ice and is combined with bright orange accents. The side profile shows the body has received two prominent character lines while the door handles are recessed to enable a cleaner look.

Debuting today at the Geneva Motor Show, the Subaru XV concept follows two other recent concepts that serve as previews for the next-gen Impreza hatchback and sedan.
