With its unusually accessible performance and iconic styling, the 2017 Audi R8 maintains its position as a mid-engine exotic sports car that you can enjoy driving the whole week. Some of the defining attributes for the new model include an intoxicating soundtrack with either engine, a comfortable and well-appointed cabin, a quick-shifting and manually automated manual transmission system, and an easy-to-drive character. Its release date should be expected during the 3rd Q of 2016.
The enduringly and appealing R8 isn’t among the list of vehicles that appear as caricatures of themselves, pined to a bygone era. Ever since its debut a decade ago, the R8 still inspires breathless social medial posts and rubberizes necks.
It still comes with a daring character, stylish looks, and a performance that still cashes. In a nutshell, the vehicle is simply a breathtaking juggernaut. It still comes with some genuine ancestry from Italy, sharing certain mechanical and structural elements as the Gallardo from Lamborghini. The performance is well manifested once you start shifting the gears on the highway.
Just as before, the vehicle has made use of lightweight materials like aluminum during its body construction. This mind-boggling vehicle offers a telepathic steering and handling that most of us would usually expect from a smaller sporty car.
One interesting thing though that we particularly like about the R8 is its ability to drive even in humdrum situations. Despite its long stay at the segment, the vehicle still offers an exceptional outward visibility, descent ride, cozy cabin, and exceptional performance. This is a vehicle that offers a unique versatility without jeopardizing its machine-like expectations.
Other vehicles in the segment that offer a formidable rivalry include the 2017 Porsche 911, the 2017 BMW i8, the 2017 Lamborghini Huracan, and the 2017 Ferrari 458 Italia.

Just as before, we should expect the revitalized Audi R8 in two body styles, namely, Coupe and Spyder. Additionally, five trims should be expected: V8, V10, V10 Plus, V10 competition, and the V10 Carbon.

Generating 430 horsepower and 317 pounds of torque comes under the hood of the new 2017 Audi R8 V8. It is still too early to speculate about the transmission systems now but we are working round the clock to unmask them before its official release. The previous model’s EPA ratings stood at 14/23/17 mpg in the city/highway/combined, we, however, should accept better ratings for the 2017 R8.
The R8 V10 Plus and the Carbon boost V10 trims comes with an output rated at 398 pounds of torque and 550 horsepower. During our own test drive of the previous model, the R8 hustled to 60 mph from standstill in an impressive 3.4 seconds.
Lastly, the V10 Competition – the performance-themed version of the R8 comes with an impressive output of 398 pounds of torque and a walloping 570 horsepower.
