A great debate is running across the major auto websites around the web – is this the new Aston Martin DB11 or just a Photoshop exercise? The original source of the picture, Autojunk.nl, claims we are looking at the successor of the DB9 indeed and that the photo was taken on a closed road during ad filming somewhere in Spain.
We are not here to judge, but several tiny details make us believe this is not the real deal. For example, take a look at the front wheel and especially at the fender: there’s seemingly too much space and the wheel arch has an irregular shape. Also, the way the roof ends at the back is fishy, while the tailpipes don’t look right as well. All of this could be down to simple low-resolution photography and a weird angle, but could just as easily be image manipulation.
Earlier this month Aston Martin teased the new DB11, revealing it will have a 5.2-litre V12 engine. While there’s nothing official yet, we believe it will produce around 600 horsepower, making the coupe significantly stronger than its predecessor. The DB9 has 510 hp, coming from a naturally-aspirated 6.0-litre V12 engine. We also have information that the British automaker has already previewed the model to prospective buyers at its home in Gaydon, the UK.
Let us know your opinion in the comments section below – is the cat out of the bag or this is just a Photoshop image?
